Our Home for the Retreat

this is Serra Vida

We are located in a beautiful valley with the Sever River flowing through 8 hectares of untouched, raw nature in Portugal’s lush Serra de São Mamede National Park.
Located a 2.5h drive inland from Lisbon.

The yoga hall is one of our most beautiful spots on the land, throning on top of the valley with breathtaking views and a beautiful deck to lounge on before and after class.
Maduka yoga mats, heavy organic cotton blankets, organic bolsters, and meditation pillows as well as a Bose sound system offer the best possible practice environment, while a constant airflow in the space makes it fresh during hot days.
The energy and view are truly magic, and the smell of wood, eucalyptus, and pine trees that surround the space will stay with you long after your practice.

This beautiful saltwater pool with natural slate stone walls invites you to cool down during the hot days of the year.
Long enough to swim some laps, and cool enough to ice bath during winter it is one of our favourite hang-out spots during off time. 

On top of the valley, you get to enjoy the birds-eye view on our viewing deck. Here there is clarity, bright sunshine, and some lounge benches to enjoy the sun. Welcome the day with a warm beverage or enjoy the evening by the fire in our fire bowl under the starry sky which is an attraction on its own.

• River walks and refreshing baths in the Sever River which flows through the property.
• Horseback riding
• Hiking
• Many rustic restaurants with rich local cuisine (5-10minutes driving distance)
• Celtic and Roman ruins
• River Pool (20 min by foot) and a lake for swimming (10 minutes by car).
• 4x4 offroad tours.
• Standup paddle tours on a nearby lake.   
• Medieval castle town of Marvao 10 minutes by car.
• Picturesque town and the old town of Castello de Vide 15 minutes by car.
